Insolvencies from January through to April 2013 were published by the Insolvency Service last week. The graph below plots these numbers across England and Wales on a seasonally adjusted basis.
A total of 1,043 Compulsory Liquidations were recorded, 11.8% higher than September to December 2012 and 13.4% less than January to April of 2012. In addition 2,576 Creditors’ Voluntary Liquidations were recorded, 10.9% less than September to December 2012 and 16.7% less than January to April of 2012.
There were also 935 other corporate insolvencies (not seasonally adjusted) comprising 236 receiverships, 557 administrations and 142 company voluntary arrangements. These figures represent a decrease of 27.5% on the same period in 2012.
