There were a total of 3,971 compulsory and voluntary liquidations. This figure is 2.8% less than the previous quarter and 6.6% less than the same quarter a year ago. The total was made up of:
- 1,092 compulsory liquidations (up 5.5% on the previous quarter but down 10.2% on the corresponding quarter of the previous year)
- 2,879 creditors’ voluntary liquidations (which were down 5.6% on the previous quarter and down 5.1% on the corresponding quarter of the previous year)
Additionally, there were 986 other corporate insolvencies (not seasonally adjusted) representing a decrease of 21% on the same period a year ago. These comprised of:
- 277 receiverships
- 548 administrations
- 161 company voluntary arrangements.
